About Boisea rubrolineata (Barber, 1926)

Boisea rubrolineata, commonly known as the western boxelder bug, is identical to the eastern boxelder bug except for the prominent red veins on its corium. This species is found in western North America. Adult western boxelder bugs measure 9–13 mm in length. Their thorax and wings are black with red lines, and their abdomen is red. Nymphs are bright red and gray. Both nymphs and adults feed on boxelder. In fall and winter, adult western boxelder bugs may migrate indoors to hibernate.
