Boana raniceps, commonly known as the Chaco tree frog, is a species of frog in the family Hylidae. It can be found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Paraguay, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, rivers, swamps, freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, urban areas, and heavily degraded former forests. Chaco tree frogs are general predators that feed on a wide variety of prey. They hunt using a sit-and-wait foraging technique, and typically forage high above ground in trees.
