Blepharipoda occidentalis, commonly known as the spiny sand crab or spiny mole crab, is a species of sand crab or mole crab. It is found in the eastern Pacific Ocean, ranging from Puget Sound to Baja California. This species has an oval shape, and can grow to 3 inches (76 mm) in length and 1.75 inches (44 mm) in width. It inhabits sandy beaches to depths of up to 30 metres (98 ft) below water, and feeds on the remains of other sand crabs that live in the same area.
