About Blenina donans Walker
Blennina donans Walker is a moth species with the following physical characteristics. Adult moths have a maximum wingspan of 40 mm. Males have minutely ciliated antennae. The outer margin of the forewings is slightly excised toward the angle, and the hindwings have a rounded shape. The head and thorax are greyish and suffused with fuscous. Several indistinct dark lines are present: a waved sub-basal line, an oblique medial line, a postmedial line, and an irregular sub-marginal line. A dark streak runs from the discocellulars to the sub-marginal line above the outer angle. Hindwings are orange, with a fuscous-black border along the margin that is widest at the apex. The larva is sub-cylindrical, and all of its prolegs are present and well developed. The larval head is smooth and yellowish green. The larval body is smooth and grass green, with a blue tinge on the venter. Larval spiracles are orange. Larvae of this species feed on persimmons belonging to Diospyros sp. in the plant family Ebenaceae.
