About Blastobasis tarda Meyrick, 1902

Blastobasis tarda is a species of moth in the family Blastobasis, first formally described by Edward Meyrick in 1902. The wingspan of this moth is approximately 15 mm. It is native to Australia, where it occurs in the states of Queensland and New South Wales. It is an introduced species in North America, and has been recorded in southern California. This species has also been reported from France. A currently undescribed moth species native to New Zealand closely resembles B. tarda in appearance.
