Biston panterinaria (Bremer & Grey, 1853) is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. Its known distribution includes multiple regions across China: Liaoning, Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Tibet. It is also found in India, Nepal, Sikkim, Vietnam, and Thailand. Adult Biston panterinaria mimic the wing pattern of distasteful or poisonous species from the genus Abraxas. The species' wings are white, scattered with pale grey markings; these markings are rarely present basal to the postmedial line of the hindwing. The base of the forewing is grey and marked with a large brown patch, accompanied by a yellowish brown antemedial line.
