About Biscutella laevigata L.
Biscutella laevigata, commonly known as buckler-mustard, is a species of perennial herb belonging to the crucifer family. It has a self-supporting growth form, is associated with freshwater habitats, and bears simple, broad leaves. Mature individuals of this species can reach a height of 0.23 meters. Biscutella laevigata has been proposed for use in phytoremediation, because it is capable of accumulating large amounts of thallium. For cultivation: its seeds germinate rapidly. To grow, keep seeds at a constant moisture level (not waterlogged) at a temperature around 20 °C, which equals 68 °F. Seeds should be covered with a thin layer of soil. Very small seeds do not need to be covered, but should be pressed firmly into the soil. After germination, plants should be kept in cooler conditions.
