About Birrima varians (Germar, 1834)

This species is scientifically named Birrima varians (Germar, 1834). The forewing of this species measures between 24 and 32 mm in length. As a species complex, it occurs in subtropical and warm temperate regions of eastern Australia. Its range extends from the Atherton Tableland in north-eastern Queensland, south to Armidale in northern New South Wales. This species is associated with open forest habitat, particularly open forest containing Eucalyptus tereticornis.
