About Bicyclus dorothea

Bicyclus dorothea, commonly called the light bush brown, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. This species has been recorded in Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Príncipe, the Central African Republic, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It inhabits disturbed areas and forest clearings. The caterpillar larvae of Bicyclus dorothea feed on three grass species: Paspalum conjugatum, Paspalum polystachium, and Axonopus compressus.
