Bibio marci (Linnaeus, 1758), commonly known as St. Mark's fly or hawthorn fly, is a species of fly belonging to the family Bibionidae. It occurs across much of Europe. Its common name originates from the timing of adult emergence: adults typically hatch around St Mark's Day, which falls on 25 April.
