Betula michauxii Spach is a plant that grows 0.5 meters (1 foot 8 inches) tall and emits a wintergreen scent. Its leaves are obovate with a glabrous (hairless) surface. The infructescence (fruiting structure) is cylindric, erect, and short, measuring 0.5–0.8 centimeters (0.20–0.31 inches) in length.
