About Begonia radicans Vell.
Begonia radicans Vell., commonly called the shrimp begonia, is a species of flowering plant in the Begonia genus that is native to southern and southeastern Brazil. It is an epiphyte with a trailing or scandent growth habit. Its vines are reddish, hairless, and bear glossy green leaves with prominent veins. Flowering typically occurs between January and April, when it produces large clusters of bright red blooms. This species has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
