Beckianum beckianum is a small snail species. It is believed to be native to the Caribbean Basin. Its confirmed distribution includes Venezuela, the West Indies, and Central America, specifically Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica. It has been introduced outside its native range to multiple locations: it has been reported in Miami-Dade County, Florida (USA) since 2003, and in Broward County, Florida (USA) since 2003. It is probably introduced to Cuba. In the Lesser Antilles, it was first reported on Saint Martin in 2001, and is present on Saint Barthélemy. It was first collected on Saba in 1949, first collected on Saint Kitts and Nevis in 1949, first collected on Antigua in 1955, and possibly introduced to Guadeloupe, where it was first reported in 1867. It is introduced to Dominica, where it was first reported in 2009. It is introduced to Martinique, where it was first reported in 1874. It was first collected on Trinidad in 1948, and first collected on Margarita in 1936. This species was introduced to the Hawaiian Islands in the early 1900s via horticultural shipments. It can occasionally be spread through trade of cut flowers and Phaseolus sp. beans. Ecologically, Beckianum beckianum is considered a detritivore (that feeds on detritus), and/or phytophagous (that feeds on plants).
