Beaucarnea pliabilis (Baker) Rose is a tree species that belongs to the family Asparagaceae, and it is native to the Yucatán Peninsula. It can grow to a height of up to 10 metres, equal to 30 feet. It is endemic to the Yucatán Peninsula, which includes portions of Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala. Its natural habitats are dry forest, moist lowland forest, and swamp forest, occurring at elevations from sea level up to 800 metres, or 2,600 feet.
