Battaristis nigratomella is a species of moth belonging to the family Gelechiidae. It occurs in North America, with confirmed records from the following locations: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Quebec, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia. The forewings are shining white, while their apical portion is pale brown and marked with an oblique white streak. This streak is bordered by dark brown along the costa, and a small black spot sits beneath the wing tip. The hindwings are slightly darker in color than the forewings. Adult moths have been recorded in flight from March through October.
