Bassia prostrata, commonly known as forage kochia, is a plant species native to Eurasia. It belongs to the subfamily Camphorosmoideae within the family Amaranthaceae; this group was previously classified as part of the family Chenopodiaceae. It has been introduced to the United States to be used as rangeland forage and for fire control purposes.
