Daniel (1995) described Barleria oenotheroides, which reaches its northernmost point in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Neotropical plants were called B. micans Nees, and its yellow corollas turn purplish when dry.

NOTES. Daniel (1995) provided a description of Barleria oenotheroides. The northernmost occurrence of these plants is in Tamaulipas, eastern Mexico. Neotropical plants were formerly known as B. micans Nees. The yellow corollas (Fig. 1 D) turn purplish when dried.
