About Balistoides viridescens (Bloch & Schneider, 1801)

The titan triggerfish, also called giant triggerfish or moustache triggerfish, has the scientific name Balistoides viridescens. This is a large triggerfish species. It is found in lagoons and reefs at depths up to 50 meters (160 feet) across most of the Indo-Pacific region, but it is not present in Hawaii. It can reach a maximum length of 75 centimeters (30 inches), making it the largest triggerfish species within its native range. The larger stone triggerfish (Pseudobalistes naufragium) occurs only in the east Pacific.
