About Baeospora myosura (Fr.) Singer

Baeospora myosura, commonly called the conifercone cap, is a species of fungus that forms agaricoid fruit bodies. Its cap starts out convex before flattening out, and reaches up to 2 centimetres (3⁄4 inch) wide. The cap colour ranges from pale brown to cream. Its gills (lamellae) are adnexed, pale in colour, and spaced very closely together. The spore print of this fungus is white to cream and amyloid. This mushroom grows on decaying conifer cones, and is common in North America and Europe. It is not poisonous, but its edibility has not been confirmed.
