Azanus moriqua, commonly known as the black-bordered babul blue or thorn-tree blue, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Lycaenidae. This butterfly is found in the Afrotropical realm. Males of this species have a wingspan ranging from 19 to 24 mm, while females have a wingspan ranging from 19 to 25 mm. Azanus moriqua is active year-round, with its main flight period occurring between September and May. The larvae of this butterfly feed on plants from the Acacia genus.
