About Autosticha calceata Meyrick, 1908
Autosticha calceata is a species of moth that belongs to the family Autostichidae. This species was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1908, and it is naturally found in Sri Lanka. The wingspan of adult Autosticha calceata ranges from 11 to 15 millimeters. The forewings of this moth are white, and they are sometimes partially tinged with fuscous; they are also more or less sprinkled with fuscous and a small number of blackish scales. Small blackish spots are present on the costa at the base, at one-fourth of the costa length, and at the middle of the costa. An almost marginal series of these spots extends around the posterior section of the costa and the termen, reaching the dorsum just before the tornus. The stigmata are large and blackish, with the plical stigma positioned obliquely beyond the first discal stigma. Extra blackish dots occur beneath the costa near the base, and between the median costal spot and the second discal stigma. The hindwings of this moth are pale grey.
