Autographa mappa, commonly known as the wavy chestnut Y, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species was first formally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote and Coleman Townsend Robinson in 1868. It is distributed in North America, ranging from Newfoundland westward across the forested regions of Canada to Vancouver Island. In eastern North America, its range extends south to Maine, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin. In the mountains of western North America, it ranges south to Colorado and Oregon. The wingspan of this moth measures 35 to 40 mm. Adult moths are active from June to August, with timing varying based on location. The species produces one generation per year. Its larvae feed on plant species belonging to the genera Urtica and Vaccinium.
