About Austrolabrus maculatus (Macleay, 1881)

The black-spotted parrotfish (Austrolabrus maculatus), which is also called the black-spotted wrasse, is a species of wrasse. It is native to the coast of southern Australia, and occurs in inshore waters at depths ranging from 10 meters (33 feet) to 40 meters (131 feet). This species reaches a maximum recorded length of 12.6 centimeters (5.0 inches). It is the only known member of the genus Austrolabrus.
