About Austrodrillia angasi (Crosse, 1863)
The shell of Austrodrillia angasi reaches a maximum length of 16 mm, and is brownish-olivaceous in color. The shell is made up of 9 whorls total; the embryonic whorls are smooth, while the remaining whorls each have 7 to 10 short longitudinal ribs that form a tuberculated shoulder. Minute revolving striae are often visible across the shell's surface. The aperture of the shell is chestnut-brown, and a brown band may sometimes be present below the middle of the body whorl. This marine species is endemic to Australia, and can be found off the coasts of New South Wales, Tasmania, and Victoria.
