Austroargiolestes aureus (Tillyard, 1906) is a species of Australian damselfly that belongs to the family Argiolestidae. It is commonly known by the common name tropical flatwing. This species is endemic to north-eastern Queensland, and it lives in streams located within rainforest there. Austroargiolestes aureus is a medium-sized to large damselfly that is black and yellow in color, and it does not have pruinescence. Just like other members of the Argiolestidae family, it rests with its wings held outspread.
