Austroagrion cyane (Selys, 1876), commonly known as the south-western billabongfly, is a damselfly species belonging to the family Coenagrionidae. Despite its common name, this species is not found only in south-western Australia; it has also been recorded in many other varied locations across the entire continent. Austroagrion cyane is permanently resident in aquatic habitats, and prefers slow-moving water. Adult individuals of this species reach a total length of approximately 2 to 3 centimeters. Females of this species are encountered less often than males, and are mostly drawn to ephemeral swamps.
