Austroaeschna sigma Theischinger, 1982, commonly known as the sigma darner, is a species of large dragonfly belonging to the family Aeshnidae. It lives in the upper sections of small mountain streams located in New South Wales and south-eastern Queensland, Australia. This dragonfly is very dark in color and has pale markings. It looks similar to the multi-spotted darner, Austroaeschna multipunctata, a species that lives in mountain streams of southern New South Wales and Victoria.
