About Australopacifica scaphoidea (Steel, 1900)
Australopacifica scaphoidea, commonly called the skiff planarian, is a species of carnivorous land planarian that belongs to the family Geoplanidae. It was first described by Thomas Steel in 1900 under the name Geoplana scaphoidea. This planarian has a variable brown colour, and when crawling it measures 60 to 70 mm long and 4 to 5 mm wide; it usually has stripes. It is native to Queensland, and possibly also native to northern New South Wales. Spread through the plant trade, the species can now be found in other parts of Australia.
