About Atriplex rosea L.

Atriplex rosea L. is a species of saltbush, commonly called tumbling saltbush, red orach, redscale, and tumbling orach (the name is also sometimes spelled orache). It is native to Eurasia, but is widespread in other regions as an introduced species. It is an annual herb with erect, hairless stems that grow up to 1.5 meters (4.5 feet) tall. Its leaves range in color from green to red, and vary in shape from oval to triangular to lance-shaped, with smooth to wavy edges. Each leaf has three prominent veins, and reaches up to six centimeters long and three centimeters wide. Male and female flowers of this species grow in clusters or spikelike inflorescences.
