About Atlanticoncha ochracea (Say, 1817)

Atlanticoncha ochracea, commonly called the tidewater mucket, is a species of freshwater mussel. It is an aquatic bivalve mollusc that belongs to Unionidae, the river mussel family. This species was previously classified in the now-discontinued genus Leptodea, and it is currently recognized as the only species in the monotypic genus Atlanticoncha. It is native to the east coast of the United States, as well as the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
