About Asystasia intrusa (Forssk.) Blume
Asystasia intrusa (Forssk.) Blume, commonly called African coromandel, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Acanthaceae. This species was first described in 1775 by Forsskal. It grows as a scrambling annual or subshrub, and occurs primarily in seasonally dry tropical areas. Asystasia intrusa is native to most of Tropical and Southern Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, Madagascar, and neighboring islands. It has also been introduced to regions of Asia and the Americas, specifically including China, Taiwan, Costa Rica, and Venezuela.
