About Astragalus sabulonum A.Gray

Astragalus sabulonum A.Gray is a species of milkvetch that is commonly called gravel milkvetch. It is native to the Southwestern United States and California, where it grows in habitats ranging from desert to mountain environments. This species is a hairy annual herb, with stems that reach up to around 26 centimeters long. Its leaves are a few centimeters long, and each leaf is composed of several hairy, oval-shaped leaflets. The inflorescence is an open arrangement holding 2 to 7 flowers, which range in color from off-white to pale lilac. Each individual flower is less than one centimeter in length. The fruit produced by this plant is a curved, leathery, hairy legume pod that grows up to 2 centimeters long.
