About Asterolasia trymalioides F.Muell.

Asterolasia trymalioides F.Muell. is a prostrate to erect shrub that usually grows between 0.2 and 1 metre (7.9 inches to 3 feet 3.4 inches) tall. It bears narrow elliptical to circular leaves, each around 5 millimetres (0.20 inches) long with rolled-under edges. The upper surface of the leaves is glossy green, while the lower surface is covered in white to brown hairs. Flowers are borne singly or in small groups at the ends of branchlets. Each flower is sessile, with small leaf-like bracts at its base. This species has five yellow petals 5 to 6 millimetres (0.20 to 0.24 inches) long, and the back of each petal is densely covered in brown, woolly, star-shaped hairs. Flowering takes place in early summer. This plant, commonly called alpine star-bush, grows in alpine and subalpine grassland, heathland, and snow gum (Eucalyptus pauciflora) forest in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, and Victoria.
