About Asplenium attenuatum R.Br.
Asplenium attenuatum R.Br. is a fern that belongs to the spleenwort group. It typically grows in rocky, shaded areas within rainforests, and can occasionally be found growing on trees. Two varieties of this species are currently recognized. A. attenuatum var. attenuatum has the lower third of its leaf blade lobed, or its base pinnate. A. attenuatum var. indivisum has a simple, unbroken frond. This species was first formally published in scientific literature in 1810, in Robert Brown’s work Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae. Brown was a prolific Scottish botanist.
