Aspilapteryx tringipennella is a moth species that belongs to the family Gracillariidae. This species is found across all of Europe. Adults of this moth have a wingspan ranging from 10 to 13 mm. The forewings range in color from pale greyish ochreous to light ochreous-yellow. An indistinct white costal streak runs along the forewing from the base to near the apex. Longitudinal rows of black dots are present along the subcostal and median areas, and there are sometimes two or three additional black dots located on the fold. The hindwings of this moth are grey in color. Aspilapteryx tringipennella produces two generations per year. Adults of this species are active on the wing in May and again in August. The larvae of this moth feed on two plant species: Plantago lanceolata and Plantago maritima. Larvae create mines inside the leaves of their host plants.
