About Aspidotis carlotta-halliae (W.H.Wagner & E.F.Gilbert) Lellinger
Aspidotis carlotta-halliae (W.H.Wagner & E.F.Gilbert) Lellinger is a fern that is intermediate in appearance between two other fern species. It produces leathery triangular leaves that are split into many pairs of leaflets; each of these leaflets is further subdivided into many coarse, irregularly toothed segments. The stipe (leaf stalk) is very thin and dark. Sori holding sporangia line the undersides of the leaf segments. This fern grows at elevations ranging from 90 metres (300 ft) to 1,330 metres (4,360 ft), and it is often found growing under rocks.
