About Asimina speciosa Nash

This species is currently accepted under the scientific name Asimina speciosa Nash. Asimina speciosa is also known by the synonyms Asimina incana (common name woolly pawpaw) and Pityothamnus incanus. It belongs to the pawpaw genus Asimina, in the plant family Annonaceae. It is a shrub that grows to a height of 1.5 metres, which equals 4 ft 11 in. Its leaves are 3–6 centimetres long (equivalent to 0.12–0.24 in) and have a leathery texture. The plant typically produces 1–4 flowers per node, and its pollen is shed as permanent tetrads.
