Ascarosepion plangon, commonly known as the mourning cuttlefish, is a species of cuttlefish. It is found along the east coast of Australia, specifically within the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. The species is common in Sydney Harbour, particularly in Chowder Bay. It is one of just three cuttlefish species that inhabit Sydney; the other two are the giant cuttlefish and the reaper cuttlefish.
