About Artioposthia exulans (Dendy, 1901) Fyfe, 1946

This is a description of the features that define species within the genus Artioposthia, which includes the species Artioposthia exulans (Dendy, 1901) Fyfe, 1946. Species of Artioposthia are characterized by a cylindrical pharynx, and ovaries located anterior to the male copulatory apparatus, positioned close to either the brain or the pharynx. The copulatory apparatus of these species has a series of paired glandular organs called adenodactyls. Artioposthia is very similar to its close relative genus Arthurdendyus; the main differences between the two genera are the position of the ovaries and the shape of the pharynx.
