The fire grid burnet, with the scientific name Arniocera erythropyga, is a day-flying moth belonging to the family Thyrididae. Its known distribution ranges from Zimbabwe and Malawi to Mozambique and South Africa. This species differs in appearance from other burnets, primarily due to its distinct colouration. Its common name comes from the pattern on its forewings: black-edged red bands set against a metallic blue-green base colour. Its hindwings are pinkish red, with a broad black band along the outer margin. Male individuals of this species have hairs covering their heads.
