Arkys walckenaeri has a triangular abdomen that varies in colour and pattern across different regions. Specimens collected from Queensland and Java have white sigilla on abdomens that range from orange to red in colour. In contrast, specimens from Western Australia, South Australia, and Tasmania are pale yellow, with few to no visible markings. Both males and females of this species reach an approximate body length of 7 mm.
