About Aristolochia trilobata L.

Aristolochia trilobata L. is a climbing vine species that typically grows up to three meters long. Its leaves are dark green and have three lobes. The plant's bark is coarse, sheds easily, and gives off a distinctive strong odor. In traditional folk medicine, the entire plant is used to make tea or extract. It is recommended that the tea be consumed in moderation, no more than once a week, to avoid additional health complications. The teas and extracts are said to boost immune health, increase appetite and energy, and combat fatigue. It has been commonly used to treat flu, gastritis, parasitic infections, fevers, constipation, stomach aches, and indigestion. Aristolochia trilobata is a tropical plant native to the Caribbean. Its natural range extends from Mexico to Brazil, and it grows best in wet tropical climates.
