About Arisaema erubescens (Wall.) Schott
Arisaema erubescens (Wall.) Schott has a globose tuber that is 2–7 centimeters (0.79–2.76 in) wide. It produces 3 dark green cataphylls marked with white spots; these cataphylls reach 55 centimeters (22 in) long and have an acute apex. Its petiole measures 2 centimeters (0.79 in) long, while its peduncle is 75 centimeters (30 in) long, with a 9 centimeter (3.5 in) free portion. The plant's spathe is green, with cylindrical tubes measuring 6–7 centimeters (2.4–2.8 in) by 1.5 centimeters (0.59 in) that are sometimes stripeless. The limb of the spathe throat is deep green; it sometimes has a purple outer margin and is pale green on the inside. The limb is triangular to ovate, 8–12 centimeters (3.1–4.7 in) long and 4–8 centimeters (1.6–3.1 in) wide. Arisaema erubescens contains the phenolic compound paeonol.
