Argyrotaenia sphaleropa (Meyrick, 1909) is a species of moth belonging to the family Tortricidae. This moth is found in South America, with confirmed recorded populations in Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, and Argentina. For this species, the female wingspan measures approximately 15 mm, while the male wingspan measures approximately 12 mm. The larvae of Argyrotaenia sphaleropa feed on a wide range of host plants, including Baccharis salicifolia, Citrus species, Cosmos species, Diospyros kaki, Medicago sativa, Mimosa diplotricha, Mentha sauveolens, Persea species, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Rapanea umbellata, Rosa species, Solanum bonariense, Lantana camara, Vitis species (which includes Vitis vinifera), and Mikania cordifolia.
