About Argyresthia subreticulata Walsingham, 1882
Argyresthia subreticulata, commonly known as the speckled argyresthia moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Yponomeutidae. It has been recorded in multiple states across the United States: Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. The wingspan of this species measures approximately 9 mm.
On the forewings, the dorsal two-thirds from the base to just before the apex is solid, unmarked pure white. The costal third from the base to the apex is light golden-brown, which becomes slightly darker in the apical region and features a white reticulated pattern. The darker section of the wing widens slightly and gradually toward the apex, extending to the apical third of the dorsal cilia. A narrow dark bronze line runs along the apical edge. The hindwings are light grey. The larvae of Argyresthia subreticulata feed on plants from the genus Acer.
