About Argyresthia pruniella (Clerck, 1759)

Argyresthia pruniella, commonly known as the cherry fruit moth, has a wingspan ranging from 10 to 13 millimetres, which is 0.39 to 0.51 inches. Its forewings are reddish-brown, featuring a white dorsal stripe and a dark transverse brown stripe across the middle. A row of white spots runs along the lower edge of the forewings. The antennae are white with brown bands. Hindwings are brownish in color, very narrow, and edged with extremely long fringes. The caterpillars of this species are pale green with brown heads. This species can be found across most of Europe, in Asia Minor, and in North America.
