About Argyresthia alternatella Kearfott, 1908

Argyresthia alternatella is a moth species belonging to the family Yponomeutidae. This species occurs in North America, with recorded occurrences across Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Ontario, and Quebec. Adults have a wingspan of 10 to 12 millimeters. The forewings are golden-ochreous, with five brown spots on the costal edge and three similar brown spots on the dorsal margin. There is an additional brown streak on the dorsum at the wing base, and the wing apex is lightly reticulated with brown. The hindwings are a light fuscous color. Larvae of Argyresthia alternatella feed on plant species in the genus Juniperus.
