About Argyresthia albistria Haworth, 1828
Argyresthia albistria is a species of moth in the family Yponomeutidae. It is found across most of Europe. Adults have a wingspan of 9 to 12 millimeters. This moth has a white head. Its forewings are ferruginous-brown with a purplish tinge; a white dorsal streak extending to the tornus is interrupted by a dark ferruginous-brown quadrate median spot. Hindwings are grey. Full-grown larvae are pale green, with a red band on each body segment; their head and the dorsal plate on the second segment are black. Adult moths are active at night from June to August, and are attracted to artificial light. Larvae feed on blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), overwinter as larvae, and resume feeding in the spring.
