About Arenaria serpyllifolia L.

Arenaria serpyllifolia L., commonly called thyme-leaf sandwort or thyme-leaved sandwort, is an annual or biennial flowering plant belonging to the pink and carnation family Caryophyllaceae. It grows from Nepal to Pakistan, and also has wide distributions in the United Kingdom and southern Poland. This species has been introduced to Chile and is widespread across China. In its ecology, ants typically act as pollinators for Arenaria serpyllifolia. Traditionally, extracts of this plant are used to treat kidney and bladder-related problems, as well as cough and dysentery.
