About Ardozyga stratifera (Meyrick, 1904)
Ardozyga stratifera, commonly called the striped ardozyga moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This species was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1904. It is native to Australia, with confirmed records from the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia. Adult individuals of this species have a wingspan ranging from 11 to 13 millimeters, equal to 0.43 to 0.51 inches. The forewings of Ardozyga stratifera are whitish ochreous, with partial pale brassy yellow tinging. It has a moderate dark fuscous costal streak that runs from near the base to five-sixths of the forewing length, narrowing toward both ends, with three blackish marks along its lower edge. There is also a broad dark fuscous streak that follows the dorsum and termen all the way to the apex of the forewing. The upper edge of this streak is irregularly sinuate, forming four slight prominences, and has partial blackish markings. The hindwings are a rather light grey that becomes darker toward the posterior end.
